After what students referred to as 'a rehearsal demo' on Sunday 22nd following the brutal murder of one of their colleagues,they finally called for a grand demonstration to protest against the same on Monday 23rd of February.
Students gathered around the student center as early as 8.00 am in the morning.They once again hit the streets of the campus wanting to have their issues addressed for once and for all.Among other students' concerns looming behind the murder of their comrade includes power shortage in the famous Soweto Hostel.
The demonstration saw roars and chants of comrades power though it did not go on for very long.Even the police who had been dispatched in fear of things getting out of hand did not take long and left.All classes however had to be suspended for that day.Tension was all over the air and students could be seen gathered in groups all day discussing the tragic event.
Students were promised that the Vice Chancellor,Professor Richard Mibey would address them the following day.
